Two years ago I had unsuccessful knee surgery and I had put on extra weight. I was in need of a cleanse and tried that guy on TV’s cleanse and had no luck. I then tried a different cleanse and was starving the entire time and did not get any results. I also heard of the acia-berry cleanse which was a joke and a major rip off.

I said to my wife, “Does Dr. G have a cleanse?”

I started to work out 2 times a week for one hour a day and the results were incredible. My wife who is thin to begin with lost 7 pounds and looked much healthier and I lost 23 pounds!

I was so focused I decided to continue on my own for the full 4 weeks and increased my cardio workouts. I ended up losing 39 pounds! Since then it has been 3 months and I have been able to keep the weight off. I have now lost a total of 44 pounds and feel relief throughout my entire body!

It isn’t “Are You Toxic” – it’s “How Toxic Are You”?
More than 3 million synthetic chemical substances are known to exist, with over 35,000 new ones added each year. Only a tiny fraction are ever tested for toxicity to humans, animals and plants. The majority come to us here in the United States on the trade winds from developing countries that have few, if any, safeguards in place.

The recent debacle with poisonous, life-threatening Melamine being used in a Chinese powdered milk facility is just the tip of a frightening iceberg of toxicity. Americans are immersed in synthetic, often toxic substances. Every system of the body is affected from deep level tissue damage to sensory deterioration.

I personally believe this Toxic Waste Syndrome is the root cause of Autism and learning difficulties with our children, Alzheimer’s and Dementia, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Gulf War Syndrome, and cancers of all types, including Breast, Prostate and Pancreatic cancers, along with the massive increase in uncontrollable violence and suicidal tendencies in society.

Christ Fasted – and So Should You
Fasting for health is our oldest health remedy. It is mentioned throughout the book of Exodus. Moses and Elijah did it and Jesus speaks directly about fasting and diet in the Essene Gospel of Peace.

To this day, Jews fast as a means of atonement, Christians fast during Lent, Moslems during Ramadan and Hindus fast routinely. Fasting was also advocated by Plato and my hero Hippocrates. The Egyptians used it extensively too.

Our bodies are filled with poisons from a diet that is full of sugars, artificial chemical sweeteners like NutraSweet or Equal (Aspartame), Sweet’N Low or SugarTwin (Saccharine) and Splenda (Sucralose), artificial colorings in drinks and prepared foods, Lead, Mercury and Fluoride in our water and fish, medications, cellular and metabolic waste products from wrongly combined foods, caffeine, nicotine from cigarettes, overeating and inadequate nutrition.

The body discharges poisons in any way it can. A cold is merely a relief valve to relieve the lungs, blood, liver and lymphatic system of congestion. Stress combines with diet to compound the effects of this overload by impeding the normal flow of impulses. Lack of clarity, confusion, frustration and instability result. You may get headaches just by walking or sitting upright quickly, encrustations around the eyes, foul body odor, coated tongue, stuffy nose, and bloodshot eyes.

All of this creates a ripe breeding ground for disease to explode. And this could very well be happening to you right now as you are reading this message.

We want you to tap into innate power that is inside of you. We want you to Thrive. It will take work on your part. And we be here for you every step of the way.

Simple Strategies to Stay Healthy and Get Slimmer
1. Hydrate
The very first thing upon waking each morning is to drink a big glass of filtered water (never drink tap water!) While you sleep, your body dehydrates. If you drink coffee in the morning on an empty stomach, you further dehydrate your body, throwing your system out of balance. A trick I use is to place a glass of water beside my bed and as soon as I open my eyes, I drink it. Continue to hydrate during the day, drinking a minimum of 8 glasses. If you must drink coffee, don’t do it in the morning on an empty stomach.

2. Protein in AM
Your first food of the day should be protein, ideally within an hour, two at most, of when you rise ‘n shine. Your protein does not have to be a meal, it can be a few tablespoons of plant-based protein powder (our Protein Plus Superfood mixed in water is just 150 calories,) a handful of almonds or a bowl of quinoa porridge. Protein stimulates glucagon, which is a hormone that retrieves fat out of storage. When your first food of the morning is carbohydrate, you signal the body to release insulin, which can cause your body to go into fat-storing mode. If you want to lose weight, a “fruit smoothie” works against you as your first food of the day.

3. Eat 5 times a day
Yes, you heard me right. I’m always amazed when people skip meals or “starve” themselves, thinking this will help them drop weight. Your body believes you are starving and goes into survival mode, slowing down your metabolism. This is why calorie-restrictive diets never work long-term and dieters end up putting back on more weight than they lost.

4. Ditch the Wheat and Sugar
I can hear you screaming! I’m not a sadist. I enjoy breads and desserts as much as the next person. (I have you ever noticed that desserts is “stressed” spelled backwards?) Start with one day a week where you consume no sugar or wheat and go up from there.

5. Focus on Proteins and Veggies
Our Protein Plus Superfood should really be called SuperFood Plus Protein. You can make a complete meal just by adding some fruit and oatmeal and blend in a blender. Veggies are complex carbohydrates – as opposed to simple carbohydrates found in breads, cereals and most processed foods. Complex carbs take more energy for the body to burn and fill you up. Mom was right, veggies are good for you. Plus they fill you up and help move toxins out.

Eliminate junk food/fast food and starches. Do you remember mixing flour and water together in kindergarten to make paste? It makes glue! Eat in technicolor – I really love broccoli, kale, cauliflower, carrots and red peppers. Lightly steam them to bring out the wonderful nutritional magic even more available.

6. Totally eliminate all poisonous foods
No more dairy. Period. Not even organic milk. No cheese. No ice cream. No butter. These are all concentrated milk. Switch to organic Soy, Rice, Coconut, Almond or Hemp milks for their perfect balance of Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids. I like the Living Harvest Tempt Milk and Ice Cream. 7. Move your Body
Do I have to talk about this? I don’t think so. No need to be a gym bunny, but the body was designed to move (otherwise we’d have been born strapped into the lazyboy so many people can’t seem to get out of.) So get out and shake your booty – walk, dance, rebound, buddy up and have fun!

8. Get a Juicer or a great Blender

Jack LaLane, the workout legend, was a huge fan of juicing. For years he sold a high quality juicer called The Power Juicer. Get his juicer and make your own fruit and vegetable juices for just pennies a glass. You don’t need a new one – shop around and get a high quality, barely-used juicer for $40-50 – it is a great investment to benefit your life.

Here are some ways you can tap into the power of intentions to make this year the best year ever:

  1. Write down your intentions and keep them in a visible place, like taped to your bedroom mirror or the dashboard of your car.
  2. Get to the source of whatever is keeping you in a rut. Are you in a stressful relationship that causes you to eat a pint of Ben & Jerry’s? Are you stressed at your job and feel too tired to exercise after work? If you don’t tackle the root of the behavior, it will be much harder to accomplish your goal.
  3. Be clear about what your life would look like once you achieve your goal. Get connected to the result of your action and you will be more likely to stick with your plan.
  4. Share your resolutions with friends and family. Hold each other accountable for achieving your goals. If you want to go to the gym more, have a friend call you two or three times a week to check on you or invite them to join you.
  5. Reward yourself when you achieve a goal or milestone. Reinforce the positive and forget the negative.

Big changes do not require big leaps. Permanent change only happens gradually. It has been said it takes 3 weeks to break a habit and implement a new one. But the new habit cannot be restrictive, otherwise you will not want to adopt it.

Allow yourself to climb the ladder one rung at a time. This is not a race, there is no time limit, the goal is to Thrive. Incorporate as many of the following into your daily routine as possible:

  • Meditation, Reflection and Prayer
  • Movement, Exercise and Yoga
  • Practice breathing deeply – from your belly, not your chest.
  • Walk barefoot outside as much as possible.
  • Consume adaptogenic herbs like those found in Emperor’s Ch’i and Age-Less Rx to aid your body’s ability to adapt to stress and reduce inflammation in your body.

Further Tips & Suggestions:
