Swine Flu Could Swamp Hospitals – Report

Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) released a new report last week that finds 15 states could run out of available hospital beds during the peak of the outbreak, if 35 percent of Americans were to get sick from the H1N1 flu virus.

Twelve additional states could reach or exceed 75 percent of their hospital bed capacity, based on estimates from the FluSurge model developed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The study, H1N1 Challenges Ahead, based on estimates from a computer model developed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, shows the strain hospitals and health departments could face as a second wave of swine flu surges.

“Our point in doing this is not to cry Chicken Little but really to point out the potential even a mild pandemic can have and how readily that can overwhelm the healthcare delivery system,” Jeffrey Levi, director of Trust for America’s Health, which sponsored the report, said in a telephone briefing.

According to the report, the number of people hospitalized could range from 168,025 in California to 2,485 in Wyoming, and many states may face shortages of beds.

Fox News Interview: Swine Flu Shot More Dangerous than Flu

This news report from Fox News presents another side of the H1N1 vaccination conversation that I’ve been harping about.

You must watch this interview with Dr. Kent Holtorf. (Click on the picture to launch the video.)

Dr. Kent Holtorf, Infectious Disease doctor, outlining the risks he sees in the H1N1 vaccine
Dr. Kent Holtorf, Infectious Disease expert, outlines the risks he sees in the H1N1 vaccine on this Fox News report.

A specialist on infectious and neurological diseases, Dr. Kent Holtorf believes the Swine Flu vaccine is more dangerous than the Swine Flu itself, particularly for anyone with neurological disorders, depression, autism, fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

When asked by the reporter if he would give the vaccine to his children, Dr. Holtorf’s response was,

“absolutely not … it’s too big of a risk!”

Vitamin D Lowers Risk of Death by 150%

Is there anything that Vitamin D-3 can’t do???

I am urging everyone I know to load up on it. In this latest study, just published in Nutrition Research, is further confirmation of the benefits of adding it to your daily regimen.

“Low levels of vitamin D may increase the risk of dying from all causes by 150 percent, suggests a study with over 700 elderly women.”

Women with blood levels of the vitamin lower than 15.3 nanograms per millilitre were more likely to die from causes such as heart disease and cancer, than women with higher levels (above 27 ng/ml), according to findings published in Nutrition Research.

“The present findings from this population-based cohort of ageing are consistent with the association between low serum 25(OH)D and mortality that has been described in the general population,” wrote the researchers, led by Richard Semba from the Johns Hopkins University.

“In addition, a recent meta-analysis suggested that vitamin D supplementation was associated with decreased mortality,” they added.

Swine Flu Vaccine – Should I Get It?

These past few summer months, Americans across the country lined up in droves to become the first human guinea pigs to receive the H1N1 flu vaccine.

I don’t believe for a second that the vaccine will effectively protect you or anyone else against H1N1. On the contrary, I’m more concerned about how much harm the vaccine may cause when millions more men, women, and children who will get it this fall.

As a regular reader of my newsletters and Health Alerts, you know by now of my passionate crusade to STOP SENSELESS VACCINATIONS, particularly to our children and the elderly, the most vulnerable amongst us.

The last time the government hastily pushed through an untested vaccine, disaster ensued.  Five hundred people came down with a paralyzing condition called Guillain-Barre Syndrome and 25 people died.

Government officials swear a repeat of 1976 will not happen. But they also admit they don’t really know for sure! In fact, according to Dr. Anthony Fauci, (someone I’ve butted heads with in the past when I was a volunteer fighting the AIDS virus), the esteemed director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases,

“no clinical trial in the world is going to be large enough to be able to detect an event that occurs one in every 100,000 people. The only way to pick that up is after the fact, when a lot of people get vaccinated and good surveillance picks it up.”

In other words, we won’t know if the stuff is really bad until we give it to a million people! Yes, a million people!

Well, thanks Dr. Fauci. Good to know you’ve thought this one through a month before injecting millions of toddlers, pregnant women, and immunologically compromised adults.

But, and it’s a very big BUT, there’s something else that’s got me worried.

Milk and Meat Linked to Pancreatic Cancer

Patrick Swayze died earlier this week – a victim of pancreatic cancer – a terrible way to go, but one that I believe could have been totally avoided, or at least his life could have been significantly prolonged.

Robert Cohen, the NotMilk.com researcher and a wonderful friend of mine, tells me that in the eight months before his death, because Patrick lost so much weight from chemotherapy, that his so-called highly paid “advisors” told him to consume an ultra-high-fat diet, including ice cream, cheese and pudding.

With films like Red Dawn, Dirty Dancing and dozens of other films to his credit, Patrick Swayze is now a “Ghost” for having chosen “cancer fuel” as his cancer cure.   If only Patrick Swayze had seen this in time:

Ginseng – The King of the Herbal Kingdom

Li Ching-Yuen, photographed in 1927 at the residence of General Yang Sen

One of the most famous tales in all of Chinese Medicine is that of a master herbalist, healer and mountain man, Li Ching Yun (Li Ching-Yuen) who lived an amazingly long life to 253 years of age.

What was his secret? Very simple, Li Ching Yun had discovered and mastered the rare art of “Adaptogenic Medicine”, using herbal compounds, healing foods and strenuous exercise each day.

The core of his success was the use of profound herbal compounds; in particular, wild crafted Ginseng, to trigger this action of “Adaptogenisis” in the body.

The Body as Doctor

What this means is that the body, when given the right elements from Nature, can literally change itself like a chameleon to adjust to the rigors of life and disease. This in turn means that the body overcomes the imbalances, the disease elements, and stays in control of itself, healthy and vigorous both physically and mentally as well as spiritually.

Swine Flu Survival Information

The World Health Organization (WHO) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) are bracing for potentially billions of people across the globe (and millions of Americans) who may become infected with swine flu this fall.

“This virus travels at an unbelievable, almost unheard of speed”, Dr Margaret Chan, the WHO Director-General was quoted as saying last week.

The “most worrying fact,” according to the Director-General, is “that 40 percent of the fatalities concern young adults – in good health – who die of a viral fever in five to seven days.”

CDC Confirms Ties to Virus First Discovered in U.S. Pig Factories
Dr. Michael Greger, Director, Public Health and Animal Agriculture at the Humane Society International wrote an in-depth research report tracing the origins of the swine flu to pig farms in the US.  Here’s an excerpt from the article:

In August 1998, however, a barking cough resounded throughout a North Carolina pig factory in which all the thousands of breeding sows fell ill.[6] A new swine flu virus was discovered on that factory farm, a human-pig hybrid virus that had picked up three human flu genes. By the end of that year, the virus acquired two gene segments from bird flu viruses as well, becoming a never-before-described triple reassortment virus—a hybrid of a human virus, a pig virus, and a bird virus—that triggered outbreaks in Texas, Minnesota, and Iowa.[7]

Got Burps, Diarrhea? 60% can't digest milk

Mainstream media has finally woken from a centuries-long deep sleep!

Earlier this week, USA Today broke the story picked up by broadcast news channels all across the country.  News I’ve been screaming about for over 15 years – milk is a rotten food.

Once past infancy, most of us can’t digest the so-called “perfect food”.  Belching, diarrhea, flatulence, acne, clogged arteries, weak bones and teeth are all caused by milk consumption.

Here’s the story published in USA Today:

By Elizabeth Weise
USA TODAY NEWS

Got milk? If you do, take a moment to ponder the true oddness of being able to drink milk after you’re a baby.

No other species but humans can. And most humans can’t either.

The long lists of food allergies some people claim to have can make it seem as if they’re just finicky eaters trying to rationalize likes and dislikes. Not so. Eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish soy and gluten all can wreak havoc on the immune system of allergic individuals, even causing a deadly reaction called anaphylaxis.

But those allergic reactions are relatively rare, affecting an estimated 4% of adults.

Milk’s different.

Tobacco to Kill 6 Million Next Year

The third edition of The Tobacco Atlas was unveiled at the LiveSTRONG Global Cancer Summit in Dublin, Ireland on Tuesday this week.

The atlas, published by the American Cancer Society and World Lung Foundation, displays how tobacco impacts global health and economies and tracks the progress and outcomes of tobacco control.

Tobacco use will kill nearly 6 million people next year from cancer, heart disease, emphysema and a range of other ills, global cancer experts said in the report, and estimated costs to the global economy of $500 billion a year in direct medical expenses, lost productivity and environmental harm.

Tobacco accounts for one out of every 10 deaths worldwide and will claim 5.5 million lives this year alone, the report said.

If current trends hold, by 2020, the number will grow to an estimated 7 million and top 8 million by 2030.

Omega-3 and Vitamin E combo shows potential for Autistic speech

A combination of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E may lead to speech improvements in autistic children with verbal disorders, suggests a new study.

Verbal apraxia is a speech disorder common in an estimated 50 percent of children with autism. Furthermore, many thousands more are reported to have apraxia but are not autistic.

According to new research published in the journal Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, daily supplements of omega-3 and vitamin E were associated with improvements in speech, imitation, eye contact, and behaviour.

Claudia Morris from the Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland (CHRCO) and Marilyn Agin from the Saint Vincent Medical Center in New York recruited families with experiences of omega-3 fatty acid and vitamin E supplementation. The majority of families used doses of 800 IU of vitamin E, while the average omega-3 consumption was 280 to 840 mg DHA and 695 to 2,085mg EPA.

The ratios and dosages determined through the work with the study led to a patent for Dr Morris through the CHRCO (US patent # 2008/002216).  Kate Bolton, VP of speech nutrients at NourishLife, told NutraIngredients:

“The results of the study are significant in that 97 percent of the participants with apraxia and/or on the autism spectrum reported dramatic improvements while taking a combination of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E.

The study represents the largest summary of children with apraxia to date, she added.

Antidotal evidence had previously shown that omega-3 can help children with apraxia and those known as ‘late talkers’. The researchers discovered that they symptoms presented by children with apraxia mirror those of vitamin E deficiency, said Bolton.

The addition of high dose vitamin E with omega-3 fatty acids is the breakthrough.”
(my bold emphasis added)
