Michael Jackson was so addicted to prescription pain medication that he was unable to sleep without something stronger – and his doctor finally gave in and administered propofol – a drug used as general anesthesia for people who are undergoing surgery for goodness sakes!

The unfortunate reality is that at some point, your body builds up a resistance to the painkillers and they stop working, forcing you to take more or get something stronger, creating a vicious and dangerous cycle of addiction.
