Metabolic Cardiology: Rocket Fuel for Your Heart

February was American Heart Month but we think this subject is so vital that we are carrying it over to March.

Heart Disease remains America’s #1 Killer, and no matter how many fancy drugs Big Pharma throws at the problem, it keeps getting worse.

This special interview, with Dr. Stephen Sinata, a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and former Chief of Cardiology at Manchester Memorial Hospital, just might change what many have always thought about heart health.

More importantly, it could save your life!”

Good Heart Sense: An Interview with Cardiologist Dr. Stephen Sinatra

Lindsay Wilson: You are a board certified cardiologist, but your approach to cardiovascular health is not entirely conventional. You practice something you call “metabolic cardiology.” Can you explain what that is?

About Dr. Sinatra
Stephen Sinatra, M.D. is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and former Chief of Cardiology at Manchester Memorial Hospital where he has been Director of Medical education for the last ten years.

Dr. Sinatra is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. His New England Heart & Longevity Center in Manchester, Conn., integrates conventional medical treatments for heart disease with complementary nutritional, anti-aging and psychological therapies that help heal the heart.

Dr. Sinatra is also the author of several books including Optimum Health, Heart Sense for Women and The Sinatra Solution: Metabolic Cardiology.

Dr. Stephen Sinatra: Metabolic cardiology describes the biochemical interventions used to improve energy metabolism in the heart. The heart uses a large amount of energy, in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), to function. The body is continuously making ATP, but when people have any form of heart disease — whether it’s a diabetic heart, an alcoholic heart, someone who has had a bypass or a heart attack or even an otherwise healthy person with hypertension, any sick heart — their hearts’ cells are losing ATP and overtime, the body can’t make it fast enough to refill the tank. What metabolic cardiology is all about is preserving the heart’s cells with the substrates it needs to make ATP. If you give it what it needs CoQ10, L-carnitine, D-ribose and magnesium — the heart has an incredible innate intelligence to repair itself. When you give it the right nutraceutical support, the heart’s energy machinery, the mitochondria, can produce more ATP. The heart needs ATP for systole and diastole (contraction and relaxation) but the heart also needs ATP to repair and rejuvenate itself. When you give a cell ATP, the cell is able to repair itself.

When you increase ATP to any cell, you’re increasing the pulsatile activity of the cell, allowing the cell to function better, allowing more nutrients in, more toxins out. When you do that, you really invigorate, regenerate and revitalize the cell — that’s what metabolic cardiology is all about.

Are You a Heart Attack Waiting to Happen?

If your systolic blood pressure reading is continually above 120, you are a ticking bomb, just waiting for a heart attack to happen!

February is National Heart Awareness Month and for good reason. Heart Disease is America’s #1 Killer. There are over one million unnecessary deaths each year from strokes, heart attacks, cardiac arrest, severe angina and clogged arteries.

Yet it shouldn’t be this way.

Did you hear about what happened to former President Bill Clinton last week? He required emergency surgery to have two stents placed in one of his coronary arteries due to chest pains – this after having quadruple bypass surgery in 2004.

Over two-thirds of Americans suffer from some kind of cardiovascular disease; heart attacks, strokes, clogged-up arteries, dangerously high cholesterol and homocysteine, hypertension, high blood pressure and diabetes. It is estimated by medical researchers that in excess of one million people die each year from heart related problems, and all unnecessarily.

Obesity is also a chronic problem in all age groups and getting worse by the second. The first lady, Michelle Obama, last week launched an initiative to fight Childhood Obesity.

Conquering what I call the Foot and Mouth Disease; a lack of exercise (foot) and eating too much food (mouth) – has an immediate impact in reversing both of these epidemics.

How Carl Bypassed a Bypass

Carl Crawford - Saved from Triple Bypass Surgery

“My husband Carl had 100% blockage in two main arteries and the other was 60% blocked!”

Carl started to have chest pains when working in the yard or out in the cold and he was very tired all the time. The doctor ordered a heart catheterization and found that all three arteries had clogged up, two were 100% totally clogged, and the other had over 60% blockage. Carl’s cholesterol level was over 600. (no, this is not a misprint) and his triglycerides were 1,233! (again, not a misprint.)

Carl had a triple by-pass operation 13 years ago and wasn’t about to go through it all over again, as the pain nearly killed him the first time. So, the doctor put a stent into the one artery with only 60% blockage and said that was all he could do for Carl.

We were both desperate to do something more. That’s when it hit me – call Wayne Garland. He had done so much for us and others over the years with his formulas.

I dug up his number and called him out of the blue. He said he had a program for Carl that would de-clog his arteries, get his cholesterol down and also shed the pounds of extra weight, so his heart would work easier. And get this, with NO DRUGS OR SURGERY!

Lena Sanchez
Lena Sanchez

“My name is Lena Sanchez.

If you’ve got ten minutes, I’ve got a story I’d like to tell you.

It’s all about my lifelong search for health and peace, first for myself and then to everyone I can reach out to with my message, that doctors and drugs will kill you and to keep away from both at all times.

From the moment I was born it seems, I’ve had one medical crisis after another trying to stay alive. I got married at 21 and in the first 4 years, trying to start a family, I had four premature babies and one miscarriage.

After the birth of my 4th child, I was suddenly overwhelmed with pain in every part of my body. It was then that I started a search from some kind of relief from the never ending pain and constant fatigue.

The medication the doctors put me on made everything worse. I came down with Meinere’s Disease really severe; the vertigo seemed present every single day. For weeks at a time I couldn’t move my head without spinning out of control. Never a night went by without just turning over in bed triggering vertigo and vomiting.

Heart Attacks Spike at Christmas

I know exactly what you’re thinking:

Shoveling snow with a weak heart!

No, that’s not it. A big problem for sure, but not the underlying reason of what actually “triggers” the weakness in the first place.

Breaking news hit my desk this morning, and it is of such vital importance, we’re rushing it out to you as a health alert, as it could very well save your life or a loved one in your family.

The “Sunshine Deficit” and Cardiovascular Disease

If your levels of vitamin D are too low, you are at significantly increased risk for stroke, heart disease and death, even among people who’ve never had heart disease, says a new study released by the Heart Institute at Intermountain Medical Center in Utah.

For more than a year, the Intermountain Medical Center research team followed 27,686 patients who were 50 years of age or older with no prior history of cardiovascular disease. The participants had their blood Vitamin D levels tested during routine clinical care.

The patients were divided into three groups based on their Vitamin D levels:

  • normal (over 30 nanograms per milliliter)
  • low (15-30 ng/ml)
  • very low (less than 15 ng/ml)

Memorize the Tell-Tale Signs of a Stroke

Our Friday Health Alert, Low Levels of Super-Vitamin Doubles Stroke Risk, highlighted a 27-year study in Finland linking low levels of vitamin D-3 to increased risk of stroke by up to 50%!

A good friend and long-time customer, Kai Tozer in Hawaii, forwarded to me a fabulous article on how to recognize the warning signs of a stroke.  Commit these to memory – you might just save someone’s life!

Did You Know?

Each year an estimated 600,000 Americans experience a stroke (an interruption of the blood supply to any part of the brain) resulting in damaged brain tissue – and 160,000 of the victims die. If the stroke does not immediately send you to the grave, you are often left with lifelong debilitating infirmities of speech, movement and even thought.

The warning signs of a stroke are:

  • Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body.
  • Sudden confusion, trouble speaking, or understanding.
  • Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes.
  • Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination.
  • Sudden, severe headache with no known cause.

Do not take these warning signs lightly.  If you do happen to suffer a stroke, seek emergency medical attention immediately.  The effects of a stroke can be minimized or even reversed, but only if you receive medical attention within 3 hours!

Low Levels of Super-Vitamin Doubles Stroke Risk

Sudden death from an unexplained stroke or heart attack is our Number One Killer today.

And mysteriously, the grim fact is that it seems to happen to people with no prior history of heart disease or cardiovascular problems.

The answer to this mystery is a basic lack of my favorite Super Nutrient – Vitamin D-3.

Practically every day some groundbreaking discovery hits my desk hailing its abilities to fight disease and extend a long, healthy life. This latest piece of news, an extensive 27 year study, is vital information for us all.

October 29, 2009
NEW YORK (Reuters Health)
– Low vitamin D levels in the body may be deadly, according to a new study, hinting that adults with lower, versus higher, blood levels of vitamin D are far more likely to die from heart disease or stroke.

Vitamin D is an essential vitamin mostly obtained from direct sunlight exposure, but also found in foods and multivitamins.

Dr. Annamari Kilkkinen, at the National Institute for Health and Welfare in Helsinki, Finland, and colleagues compared blood levels of vitamin D and deaths from heart disease or stroke over time in 2,817 men and 3,402 women in Finland.

"DMG" – Russian's Secret Weapon in the Olympics

For several years I have been helping children with autism make giant strides in their mental capacities. Autism is a frightening epidemic and getting worse by the moment.

The biggest thing that turns children around is an extraordinary discovery I made that the Russian’s used to super-boost their athletes for the Olympics. So too did the East Germans when they were at the forefront of Olympic performance and records.

Mislabeled for years as vitamin B-15, DMG is an effective energy booster, stamina-enhancer and cardiovascular-building nutrient, as it makes the process of metabolism in the body quicker and more efficient.

It is a super-oxygenation, metabolic enhancer that pumps tremendous fuel into the cells. DMG also promotes healthy neurotransmitter function, supporting the central nervous system glycine receptor, maintaining a healthy amino acid balance within the central nervous system.

Muhammad Ali even called it his “secret weapon” in becoming the heavyweight champion of the world.

Heart Disease Wiped Out by Miracle Mineral

Just this past week, two major celebrities collapsed and died from sudden “Cardiac Arrest”. One was a true superstar, Michael Jackson. The second was an amazing TV spokesperson, Billy Mays, who touted laundry detergents and other products. I believe that neither of these super-talents needed to leave us, so far ahead of their time. I also believe I have the true answer behind their sudden deaths and how you can ensure it will not happen to you, or anyone in your family.

The answer is the massive necessity of daily supplementation with a Miracle Mineral, called Magnesium, the Mother Mineral of the entire Universe. If it ensures your heart will keep beating, what else can it be called?

The Double Tragedy of Michael Jackson and Billy Mays Deaths

If you’ve been following my messages on Facebook and Twitter, you will know my theory behind the tragic deaths of two superstars, Michael Jackson and Billy Mays. Both died suddenly, from a non-beating heart.

Neither of them, it appears, had any major heart problems. Their fate lay in a massive lack of the basic fuel to keep the heat beating.

The Double-Tragedy of Michael Jackson’s Sudden Death

Late Thursday this week, the world lost “The King of Pop”, much too early at the age of 50 from sudden Cardiac Arrest. Early reports indicate it was not a heart attack, but that Michael Jackson experienced Cardiac Arrest, an abnormal heart rhythm that stops the heart from pumping blood to the body.

Michael reportedly had been spending hours and hours with a team of dancers, preparing for a comeback series of 50 concerts, starting July 13th in London’s famed “02 Arena”.

What Causes Cardiac Arrest?
First, I believe this tragedy could have been avoided if Michael had been taking some elemental compounds to fuel his heart. The most vital one, is a major mineral called “Magnesium”. Without Magnesium being supplied to the heart every split second, making the heart contract, “cardiac arrest” occurs and you can literally drop dead or go into a coma.

Every organ in the body is a miniature factory and each factory needs a foreman to run the factory and keep it working. Guess who is the foreman of the heart factory? Magnesium.
